Hammered Dulcimer Kit Features:
- a 12treble/11bass double course string arrangement.
- a sound board of solid 1/4" Redwood with two
soundholes and a bottom of 1/2" plywood.
- black walnut front, back, and internal bracing.
- a maple pin block.
- a unique asymmetrical design allowing for the bridge to be
placed perpendicular to the bottom of the instrument thus allowing for
easier playing.
- delrin capped bridges for better tone quality and easy
tuning
- tuning pins placed on the left side of the instrument to
make tuning easier.
- two adjustable internal sound posts that enable the
instrument to be "voiced" so different tonal quality may be achieved.
- tuning wrench included.
- two hammer blanks for making the hammers.
- a laminated paper string indicator to identify the notes.
- a design that allows the instrument to hold its tuning

Tools and supplies needed to build the hammered
dulcimer
kits:
A hand drill or small drill press with bits, a
coping saw or small scroll saw, a hack saw, some C clamps, a small wood
vise, a few files and/or rasps, a few wood chisels, glue, and
sandpaper. Although some woodworking experience is helpful in putting
this kit together, extensive skills are not necessary. It has been
engineered and designed to be builder friendly.
